About Us
Distinct Grain Custom was founded with a simple goal in mind: build high-quality spaces that last and create work our clients are proud of. With experience in both new builds and remodeling, we offer a wealth of knowledge and expertise in residential construction.
We bring a level of craftsmanship that goes beyond standard remodeling. We create one-of-a-kind carpentry and custom cabinetry designed specifically for the character and quirks of Madison homes. From historic near-east side houses to modern builds in surrounding communities, we understand how to design and build pieces that feel like they’ve always belonged.
Every project is built with an emphasis on individuality and long-lasting quality.

Meet the Owner
Trevor Bell is the hands and heart behind Distinct Grain Custom. With a decade of woodworking and carpentry experience, he brings a deep passion for transforming rough sawn lumber into pieces that are both beautiful and built to last. For Trevor, the craft is as meaningful as the final product. He takes pride in every step of the process, from the first cut to the final finish.
Trevor’s background in home building and remodeling shaped the way he approaches every project. He learned how a home comes together from the inside out, and that understanding fuels his attention to detail. Whether he is crafting a set of stairs, designing a bathroom vanity, or reimagining an entire space, he enjoys the challenge of creating something that feels both functional and thoughtfully made.
Distinct Grain Custom was created from Trevor’s love of seeing a vision come to life. Whether it is a single custom piece or a complete transformation of a home, he approaches every project with care, precision, and a commitment to quality that stands out in every piece.
When he is not in the shop or on a job site, Trevor enjoys spending time with his wife and their two pups, usually on a trail, at the lake, or anywhere the dogs decide looks like a good adventure.
